Assessments
Being a special education teacher, it is imperative that I use sound, formal and informal assessments which maximize the authentic amount of progress done by my students. These file folders are laminated, and have velcro on them. Students can match pictures, numbers, groups of objects, letters, even words. This is a fundamental system we use to collect data to view at what pace our students are learning as individuals rather than as a class. Using this system as a form of assessment once or twice a week gives me the opportunity to document my students success. Much of the data we collect helps us create baselines, track progress reports, and develop new goals for our students. Most all of my students are able to functionally complete this task, making it a great assessment for a diverse set of students.
