CEC Standard 3.2
Curricular Content Knowledge
Unique Learning system is a standards-based curriculum specifically designed so that students with exceptionalities can access the general education curriculum through leveled books and activities, such as the one you see in this artifact. This lesson plan shows how one leveled books can be connected to an Arizona state standard, with two differentiated objectives, and activity that allows all to participate. Unique allows you to use what you need to design a curriculum that you find most beneficial for your individual students. In this lesson, I used a level book to activate background knowledge of groups of items (How many people? How many animals? How many words on the page?) then, I used a teacher created counting sheet that connected to the objectives and standard which was to understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted.
